Twhirl Twitter Client
Those who follow me on Twitter will have noticed that, on some days, I’m using a new client for the microblogging platform, discovered almost by chance “(they are always in search of the client” perfect “). After having tried many (in this post the review of different Twitter client for Windows), my attention was caught by twhirl is a Twitter client built using Adobe AIR framework (both for Windows and Mac OS X), came from a very short (the first version was released November 12) and that is having some success, especially among my contacts on Twitter;)
Since its release has been updated almost every day, which while it may seem tedious (not everyone has the desire to upgrade a program each day) on the other hand, has enabled the introduction of each new function.
The installation of twhirl is easy and fast download (less than 600 KB, just click the relevant icon on the homepage already has installed the Adobe AIR framework, or download the installation package from here), once installed, you set your Twitter account (it’s also supported the multi, if you have different accounts) and you are immediately in front of the main screen of the program.
From this you can follow the twit of your friends, but not all.
With twhirl fact, you can see the same interface the reply, the messages you have sent (the archive) and direct messages, making it almost unnecessary to resort to the web interface of Twitter
Furthermore (and this is a feature that only a few clients) you can also view a list of your followers / following all the details, even if it is not yet possible to add new or remove existing ones … feature that the developers still intend introduce in future releases (Twitter API permitting, of course).
Obviously twhirl in various configurable options (time to upgrade, settabile even at 1 minute, differentiated sound notifications for twit about you etc..) And the developers are very kind and available to every feature request (other feature that you find in twhirl I personally suggested);)
The big “cheat” is that the Adobe AIR framework is not yet available for Linux, and this precludes the use twhirl to a large range of users … well, let’s hope that Adobe will soon take steps in that regard.
My advice here is obvious: Try it, I am sure you like it..
