Cisco extends its agreement with Warner Music
Cisco Systems Inc. and Warner Music Group Corp. have announced an extension of the strategic agreement linking the two companies. The label used Cisco Eos platform to build, host and manage the websites of their artists and labels.
The alliance, therefore, will allow WMG Cisco Eos used for site management of artists like Paramore, Trey Songz and Halestorm. The platform will also restructure the site of Sean Paul and create other portals in the coming months.
Cisco Eos helps businesses develop social tools for communication between artists and their fans, as Cisco says in a press release. With this agreement, WMG can manage an unlimited number of web pages of their artists through a single integrated platform.
“We are facing a transition that is paradoxical in many ways. The music consumption has doubled in terms of demand but the generation of income has fallen by almost the same, “said the CEO of Cisco, John Chambers, in comments reported by Reuters.
The manager believed that Cisco’s foray into the entertainment business and online media can help improve relations between the music industry and Silicon Valley open the way for joint work in search of new business opportunities.
